Hello, I’m Matt. I enjoy getting Out and About. I’ve happily clocked up well over a thousand miles now across some truly stunning parts of the UK.
I have had wonderful times tackling the big climbs in Snowdonia, the Lake District, and up in the Scottish Highlands, but I’m more often found a bit closer to home, on the stunning trails of the South West of England and tackling the dramatic mountains and coastline of South Wales, including the popular peaks and waterfalls of Bannau Brycheiniog / Brecon Beacons. I get a lot of pleasure from being in remote, wild places with lots of fresh air and big views. I find it renews and replenishes my soul. My simple aim with this site is to share my enthusiasm and encourage others to get Out and About too. I’ve spent hours curating and developing my own route maps and resources — including videos from the trail — and I’m sharing them all here in the hope that you’ll find them useful.
My Approach to the Trail
After a fair few years of hauling my boots around, my approach is pretty straightforward: a bit of common sense, practical route planning, and the mindset that there’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong gear.
My experience combines an adventurous spirit with practical know-how for getting outside in all weathers. Expect detailed guides, real trail videos, and honest, hard-earned tips drawn from countless journeys.
